Achtung Vogelschutzzeiten beachten!

tilmanb started the topic Filter by wind direction in the forum Slople 10 years, 1 month ago
It would be very useful if one could filter slopes by wind direction.
I mean arbitrary directions, not just all or predicted wind direction.
Sometimes I would just get a idea what I can do where in which wind […] -

Well, beachy head is perhaps the most obvious cliff soaring spot.
But there are loads of slopes in the Eastbourne area. Perhaps the best in the region.
I think most are on slople. And with more detail on slopehunter.com -

I mixed up east and west. The paragliders are west.

Bopeep is big. The paragliders tend to stay to the east. Modelleers tend to fly west of the car park.
But when the pillows are down, it’s often well worth a walk to the left. The lift east of the car park is perhaps a bit smoother if the wind is right. And you can find some shelter behind the bushes.-
Thanks for your report!
I always wondered if it’s possible to fly near Eastbourne / Seven Sisters directly at the cliffs, or at the White Cliffs of Dover? Would you mind sharing some tips where to go and where to stay? Thank you!-

Great tight bowl. Can be turbulent and can be overrun by holiday makers.
And it has a reputation to destroy models due to dificult landing. -

Sorry I meant to say Electric soaring. Point is, you are likely to need the engine to get out of the bad air.

This is not really a proper slope soaring hill.
But great for thermal soaring, if you make it up to about 100m you get plenty lift.
Below the trees and terrain don’t work.No flat landing zone and can be full of people. Mind the dog walkers and holidays makers.

Never flown the cliffs. In fact I’m quite new to the whole sloping thing. But always interested in new sites.
