This is the first take-off area that you find when you climb on top of the Subasio. Starting from Assisi is about 2 km from the "Eremo delle Carceri". The area is marked by a wind flag located along the road on the left, where you can leave the car. The take-off point is located at 50 m on the slope. This take-off is preferred when, in winter, the other take-off areas are not attainable because of the snow. The wind direction for this take-off is SOUTH or WEST. In summer you can find strong thermals during the hottest hours.
