Works best in West wind. Pretty rough LZ, but plenty of room to land big planes. Carpets are laid out for paragliders. There used to be some hay to land in, but that has mostly blown away. Thermal and slope lift combine at this slope for some amazing lift. If you stay until near sunset, you'll often be rewarded with the Blossom Valley Glass-Off; the lift becomes omnipresent and extremely smooth as the cold air sloughs off the shaded mountain across the valley and releases the warm air from the valley floor. This slope requires 4WD to drive up the trail, or it's a moderate 10-15 minute hike from the bottom at Quail Canyon Rd.
