The summit of Merriam Crater is offers good frontside and backside (into the Caldera) flying in NW (best) to NE winds. You can hike the rim of the caldera to fly in S-SW winds as well. It is about a 40 minute hike around. Note: You need a good 4WD vehicle to acces the crater area.
